Warriors acquire Jason Thompson from 76ers for Gerald Wallace
The Philadelphia 76ers have traded forward Jason Thompson to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Gerald Wallace and draft plus cash considerations.
The Warriors essentially flipped David Lee for Jason Thompson and $8.6 million in cap space this offseason. Gerald Wallace will be playing for his fifth team in the last six seasons if he suits up with the 76ers.
Thompson posted a subpar -3.1 nERD last season while averaging 6.1 points and 6.5 rebounds with the Kings. However, he ranked second on the Kings with 1.5 Defensive Win Shares. He will be slotted into the backup power forward role behind Draymond Green. Wallace was a non-factor in Boston this past season averaging 8.9 minutes in only 32 appearances.
