'Growing optimism' Chris Bosh (blood clots) will play for Heat this season

The Miami Heat have "growing optimism" that Chris Bosh (blood clots) will play this season, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

What It Means:

While this is encouraging, it's still not really much of an update given the uncertainty that still surrounds the situation. Per Jackson, "discussions remain focused on the Heat's comfort level with Bosh taking new [blood] thinners that would be out of his system within eight hours or so, and ways for him to play while taking those type of thinners." At this point, there is no questioning Bosh's desire to play, but Miami still needs to clear him and the two sides must reach an amenable agreement before that can happen.

Bosh was solid when on the court last season, averaging 19.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 53 games. He had a 6.1 nERD that ranked 26th in the league.
