Lance Stephenson agrees to deal with Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans agreed to a deal with guard/forward Lance Stephenson.

What It Means:

Stephenson will provide depth on the wing after New Orleans added E'Twaun Moore in free agency and Buddy Hield via the draft. He will likely serve as an additional ball-handler for the Pelicans' second unit. Stephenson doesn't have much fantasy value, but did flash his potential towards the end of last season with 15.1 points a game in March.

Stephenson put up averages of 14.2 points, 4.4 boards, 2.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.4 treys in his final 26 regular season contests with the Memphis Grizzlies last season. For the year, his -1.4 nERD ranked 94th in the NBA. Stephenson led the league in triple-doubles back in 2013-14, but has seen his play fall off dramatically since.
