76ers officially sign Richaun Holmes
Despite injuring his elbow during a nasty fall in the Summer League, the Philadelphia 76ers signed their second round draft pick to a four-year deal.
Before his injury, he averaged 9.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 block over three games in Utah this summer. The 21-year old forward is the all-time blocks leader at Bowling Green (244) and he's the only player in school history to tally 1,000 points, 600 boards, and 200 blocks. To go along with the Mid-Atlantic Conferece Defensive Player of the Year honors last season, he also shot 42% from three-point land.
Holmes is expected to be fully healthy by training camp and seems like a perfect fit in Brett Browns defensive-minded scheme in Philadelphia. The 76ers finished last season ranked 13th overall (104.8) in our defensive team power rankings.
