Bulls' Nikola Mirotic injures knee in Bronze medal game

Chicago Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic banged his knee during the Bronze medal game on Sunday and will have "some tests" done.

What It Means:

Mirotic did return to the game after a brief exit, but he said the pain got worse after the game ended. The injury occurred when he collided with Aron Baynes, but Mirotic still finished the game with 14 points and seven rebounds. There should be more word on an official diagnosis some time in the near future.

Mirotic was Spain's second leading scorer in these Olympics, averaging 12.9 points to go along with 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. In his second NBA season, Mirotic averaged 11.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game with a .518 effective field goal percentage.
