Russell Westbrook agrees to extend with Thunder
Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has agreed in principle to extend his contract with the team, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
According to The Vertical, the renegotiated deal will be worth $85 million over three years, including a third year player option that will enable him to see an unprecedented amount of money in 2018 if he elects to opt out. Westbrook and the Thunder are expected to make things official on Thursday.
Westbrook recorded a 39.0 percent usage rate with Kevin Durant off the court last season, which would have led the league among qualified players (DeMarcus Cousins was first at 35.5 percent). He is going to be an absolute fantasy machine next year.
