Pelicans sign Cheick Diallo to a three-year deal

Forward Cheick Diallo and the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a three-year deal.

What It Means:

Diallo is almost certainly going to make the Pelicans' roster to begin the season. He was very impressive in Summer League action, especially defensively, and has a decent jump shot, but he's still raw. Considering how much incumbent bigs Omer Asik (-1.4 nERD) and Alexis Ajinca (-1.6 nERD) struggled last season, it's possible that Diallo will see minutes.

Diallo played 27 games for the University of Kansas last season, averaging 3.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game, while shooting 56.9 percent from the floor.
