Alonzo Gee finalizing deal with Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans and guard/forward Alonzo Gee are finalizing a one-year contract.
Gee declined his player option in June, as even a minimum contract this season, with the increased salary cap, will pay better than the $1.4 million option he turned down.
Gee's -2.7 nERD ranked 106th in the NBA last season, and he averaged only 4.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 22.4 minutes per game. There were some bright spots though, as his 13.0 percent total rebound rate was the second highest he has ever posted, and his .572 true shooting percentage was a career-high.
