Pelicans' Anthony Davis (knee) may be cleared in August
New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Anthony Davis (left knee) is expected to resume basketball activities in early August and be fully healthy for training camp, according to general manager Dell Demps.
Davis has already resumed shooting after receiving a debridement procedure and bone marrow injection in his left knee back on March 25. He's also reportedly bulked up a little, adding some muscle to his slender frame. Even if he's considered "100 percent" prior to training camp, there are a myriad of injury concerns, including his recovery from a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder. That one didn't require surgery, but Davis is going to be an extremely high-risk, high-reward draft pick this season.
Davis averaged 24.3 points, a career-high 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in the regular season while shooting a career-low 50.8 Effective Field Goal Percentage. His 6.0 nERD ranked 27th in the NBA.
