Trey Lyles scores 30 points for Jazz with five triples
Utah Jazz power forward Trey Lyles dropped 30 points on 10-of-20 shooting during Tuesday's double overtime loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, adding five 3-pointers, nine rebounds, one assist and three turnovers in 34 minutes.
Lyles put the team on his back in this one, forcing double overtime with a tough tip-in and draining shots from all over the map. While his defensive game remains rough around the edges, Lyles is dominating on the offensive side of the ball and has been one of the stand out players during Summer League. He's making a strong case for being a regular part of Utah's rotation next season, and his upside is worthy of a late-round pick come draft day.
Lyles posted a -1.1 nERD, which ranked 91st, in 80 games (33 starts) last season. He averaged 6.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per contest, while recording a .517 true shooting percentage.
