D'Angelo Russell scores 26 points in Lakers' Summer League action
Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell had a strong performance in Summer League action against the Golden State Warriors on Monday, scoring 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting in 24 minutes of action.
There's only so much you can read into Summer League performances, but Russell has been impressive so far, totaling 20-plus points in back-to-back games.
Like everyone on the Lakers, Russell had a rough 2015-2016 season. He ranked 145th in the NBA with a -9.8 nERD while averaging 13.2 points, 3.3 assists and 2.5 turnovers per game. He had a .507 true shooting percentage, but his 15.9 percent turnover rate was close enough to his 21.2 percent assist rate to raise some red flags.
