Kevin Durant plans to end his career with Warriors
Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant said during his introductory press conference, "I don't want to go through this [free agency process] again."
"I plan on being here. I’m committed," Durant said. "I’m looking forward to a new era of basketball for me personally, and it should be fun." Durant did sign a deal that allows him to opt out next summer, so it's almost a formality that he will, since the salary-cap increase will enable him to command a much higher dollar amount on his deal. Durant has made a very clear statement that he plans to stay in the Bay Area, but his future will remain a talking point all year.
Durant is coming off of a phenomenal season in which he posted a career-high 12.4 percent total rebound rate, the second highest assist rate of his career at 24.2 percent, and still finished third in the league with 28.2 points per game. His 19.7 nERD was second only to new teammate Stephen Curry.
