Jared Sullinger says he's joining the Raptors

Power forward/center Jared Sullinger said he's joining the Toronto Raptors.

What It Means:

Sullinger's deal is for one-year and worth around $6 million, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Sullinger followed Al Horford's suit, making an announcement on Twitter, while also updating his avatar to a Raptors logo. The Boston Celtics rescinded Sullinger's qualifying offer, so they are unable to match Toronto's offer. Sullinger's minutes dropped to 23.6 per game last season, but it didn't stop him from recording a career-high 8.3 rebounds per game, to go with 10.3 points. He'll be competing with Patrick Patterson for the starting job in Toronto, but likely won't offer much fantasy value even if he wins the starting gig.

Sullinger posted a 1.6 nERD, which ranked 64th, in 81 games played (73 starts) last season. However, his .476 true shooting percentage was a career low.
