Richard Jefferson stays with Cavaliers on two-year deal

Guard/forward Richard Jefferson has agreed to a two-year, $5 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

What It Means:

"Heard it here first...can't wait to repeat...2 year deal done!!," Jefferson announced on Snapchat. This deal was in correlation with a trade to acquire veteran swingman Mike Dunleavy, so the Cavaliers will remain capable on the wing if J.R. Smith winds up signing elsewhere in free agency.

Jefferson turns 36 on Tuesday, but he proved during this year's Finals that he can still play at a competitive level with averages of 5.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 24 minutes per game. He recorded an outstanding .614 true shooting percentage throughout the postseason.
