Kevin Durant chooses Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have signed forward Kevin Durant to a two-year, $54.3 million deal that will include a player option after the first year.

What It Means:

Durant. Steph Curry. Klay Thompson. Draymond Green. Good luck, rest of the league. The Warriors will be hands-down title favorites to open the 2016-2017 NBA season and this will be the first time in league history that the two most recent MVP's will play for the same team. The rest of the roster will need to be sorted out, but Andrew Bogut removed all references to the Warriors from his Twitter profile, so he's likely headed elsewhere. This likely puts a slight damper on Klay Thompson and Draymond Green's fantasy value, while Durant and Curry will be the top two options in an absolutely lethal Golden State offense.

Durant is coming off of a phenomenal season in which he posted a career-high 12.4 percent total rebound rate, the second highest assist rate of his career at 24.2 percent, and still finished third in the league with 28.2 points per game. His 19.7 nERD was second only to new teammate Stephen Curry.
