Jamal Crawford agrees to three-year deal with Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers and shooting guard Jamal Crawford have agreed to a three-year deal worth a reported $42 million.

What It Means:

Head coach Doc Rivers proves here that he isn't shy to do things his own way, and signing your 36-year-old sixth man to a pricey three-year deal certainly defies convention.

Crawford finished 102nd in the league with a -2.2 nERD last season, while his 14.0 player efficiency rating was his worst since his rookie year in 2000, and his .529 true shooting percentage was the lowest in five years. Unless Doc Rivers knows something we don't, you can expect Crawford's efficiency to continue to fall as his contract plays out and he creeps closer to 40 years old.
