Kings agree to two-year deal with Matt Barnes

Small forward Matt Barnes and the Sacramento Kings have reportedly come to terms on a two-year deal worth $12 million.

What It Means:

This is the 10th time Barnes has changed teams in his career, and it reunites him with head coach Dave Joerger, who coached him in Memphis last season. He is the only player in league history to play for all four California teams.

It was an inefficient season for Barnes, who ranked 123rd in the NBA with a -4.5 nERD. His .503 true shooting percentage was his lowest since 2004, while his 13.8 percent turnover rate was his highest in 5 years. He's not brought in for his offensive efficiency though, and his 107 defensive rating ranked fourth among Memphis players with 500-plus minutes.
