Deron Williams, Mavericks agree to one-year deal

The Dallas Mavericks and point guard Deron Williams have come to terms on a one-year deal worth a reported $10 million, per Marc Stein of ESPN.

What It Means:

Having lost the Mike Conley sweepstakes, and with Rajon Rondo's signing in Chicago, Williams became close to a must-sign for Dallas, as they avoid being left with a glaring hole at point guard.

Williams averaged 14.1 points and 5.8 assists per game this season, and his .530 true shooting percentage and 29.3 percent assist rate were both below his career averages, while he ranked 99th in the league with a -1.9 nERD.
