With the Pacers signing Al Jefferson, the writing was on the wall that the Pacers were unlikely to re-sign Mahinmi. Even though it's a large sum, Mahinmi is absolutely worth the deal after posting a solid season in Indiana. The 29 year-old is easily a better signing than the similar amount the Lakers paid for Timofey Mozgov.

Mahinmi had an effective field goal percentage of .589 last year, along with 7.1 total rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game in 71 games played (71 starts). His 5.2 nERD ranked 34th in the league.
