Lakers, Luol Deng agree to four-year deal

The Los Angeles Lakers have will sign forward Luol Deng to a four-year, $72 million deal once the league moratorium ends.

What It Means:

Deng will enter his 13th NBA season with the Lakers after two seasons in Miami. He was courted by several teams, but the Lakers look like they were the high bidder. He will likely be used to ease Brandon Ingram along, and he should see some time at power forward when the Lakers go small next season.

Deng averaged 12.3 points, 6.0 boards and 1.9 assists in 32.4 minutes per game last season in Miami. He owned a .514 effective field goal rate, and he really picked up his efficiency in the playoffs with a .558 eFG% and shooting 42.1 percent from down town in 14 playoff games. He had a 3.4 nERD, which ranked him 57th among all players.
