Pelicans agree to deal with Solomon Hill

The New Orleans Pelicans have a verbal agreement on a four-year, $52 million deal with unrestricted free agent guard/forward Solomon Hill.

What It Means:

At just age 25, Hill showed a lot of potential in the postseason with the Indiana Pacers, logging 28.3 minutes per game (compared to 14.7 minutes in the regular season). However, he was out of the rotation earlier in the year and his 40.9 career field-goal percentage causes some pause. The Pelicans likely figured Hill was their best option at the wing, but he will probably only be on the radar as a flier in deeper leagues.

Hill averaged 7.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.6 3-pointers per game on a scorching .710 true shooting percentage in the playoffs. His 0.8 nERD in the regular season ranked 72nd in the league.
