Evan Fournier signs five-year, $85 million deal to stay with Magic

Orlando Magic guard/forward Evan Fournier received a five-year, $85 million contract extension to return to the team.

What It Means:

There was no way the Magic were going to let Fournier walk after clearing out a significant amount of cap space and trading away Victor Oladipo to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He makes for a mid-round target with upside in standard fantasy leagues after averaging a career-best 15.4 points per game last season. In new head coach Frank Vogel's offense, he should get even more looks sans Oladipo.

The 23-year-old Frenchman had a 58.7 true shooting percentage last year, eclipsing his 56.4 career-average. He made a career-high 2.0 3-pointers on 40.0 percent shooting from beyond the arc. His 0.7 nERD ranked 73rd in the league.
