Evan Turner

Evan Turner catching the Knicks' eyes

Free agent guard/forward Evan Turner is "gaining traction" with the New York Knicks, according to ESPN's Frank Isola.

What It Means:

The Knicks are basically a lock to sign center Joakim Noah, so they will now look to address their need at shooting guard. Isola hinted that the Knicks prefer Turner and Courtney Lee over Eric Gordon, but said that it will all come down to money. Turner has been linked to several different teams including the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics, so he's looking at some serious money.

Over 81 games played this year (12 starts), Turner averaged 28.0 minutes played, with 4.4 assists, 1.0 steals, and 4.9 total rebounds per game. He had just a .469 effective field goal percentage, however, shooting just 24.1 percent on three-pointers. His -1.2 nERD ranked 92nd in the league.
