Lakers, Timofey Mozgov agree on four-year, $65M deal

The Los Angeles Lakers and center Timofey Mozgov have come to terms on a four-year, $65 million deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

What It Means:

The Lakers desperately needed a big man and, well, they got one. While he will certainly log more minutes in Los Angeles than he did with the Cleveland Cavaliers, it's not too shabby for a guy who had six total baskets during a 21-game postseason. He was the first unrestricted free agent to get a deal done and this is likely a good indicator of what this free agency period is going to hold in store in regards to the lavish contracts that will be handed out.

Mozgov averaged 6.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 17.4 minutes per game across 76 contests (48 starts) this past season. His 14.4 total rebound percentage was the lowest since his rookie year and he ranked 57th in the league with a 2.3 nERD.
