Hornets looking to re-sign Marvin Williams

The Charlotte Hornets are looking to re-sign forward Marvin Williams, sources told ESPN's Chris Broussard.

What It Means:

This potential move makes sense considering the breakout season Williams had, featuring consistent production playing for coach Steve Clifford. Williams also adds a veteran presence in the locker room that will be welcome on a growing club. However, with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist healthy, Nicolas Batum possibly returning, and with Frank Kaminsky already on the roster at the four spot, it's unknown what Williams' new role on the squad would look like.

Williams posted an impressive 6.7 nERD, which ranked 24th, in 81 games played this season. He averaged 11.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game, while recording a career best 58.5 True Shooting Percentage.
