Pelicans unlikely to keep Ryan Anderson
New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Ryan Anderson isn't a strong candidate to return to the team, as New Orleans isn't expected to make a "strong push" to re-sign Ryan Anderson, according to John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
This is one of the more expected happenings of the offseason, as both sides have seemed mutually ready to part ways for a while now. Anderson is seeking a large payday in free agency and it's highly unlikely that the Pelicans will be a team that makes a lucrative offer. It remains to be seen how New Orleans ends up shaping their roster sans Anderson, but it could mean Anthony Davis logs a lot more minutes at the four than the five next season.
Anderson averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 3-pointers on 36.6 percent shooting from deep last season. His -1.1 nERD ranked 91st in the league.
