Kris Dunn falls to Wolves at No. 5

The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Kris Dunn with the fifth overall pick in the NBA Draft.

What It Means:

The pre-draft chatter had Dunn going as high as No. 3, but he slipped to Minnesota. Timberwolves' coach Tom Thibodeau loves physical guards who can play defense, and he nabbed one with this pick.

Dunn is an interest fit in Minnesota. The Wolves already have a couple guards -- namely Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins -- who struggle shooting the ball, and shooting isn't necessarily a strength of Dunn's, either. However, he did hit 37 percent from downtown on his way to averages of 16.4 points, 5.3 boards, 6.2 assists and 2.5 steals per game last year at Providence. Dunn may get dealt this offseason, with Minnesota reportedly eyeing Chicago Bulls' star Jimmy Butler, but if he sticks with Minnesota, he is another athletic piece to what's a very intriguing roster.
