Blazers' Damian Lillard won't play in Summer Olympics
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard has decided not to play in the 2016 Summer Olympics in order to concentrate on rehab his plantar fasciitis injury.
With most of the top point guards backing out, Lillard had a spot if he wanted to play, but he's the latest in what's becoming a long line of players who have passed on the chance to play for a gold medal.
Portland won't be mad at his decision. Still just 25, Lillard had an outstanding year this past season. He put up 25.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 3.1 three-pointers per night. His 7.1 nERD ranked 22nd, and he should be a first-round pick in fantasy drafts this fall.
