Manu Ginobili declines player option with Spurs

San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili has reportedly declined to pick up his player option worth $2.94 million for the 2016-'17 season.

What It Means:

This will make Ginobili an unrestricted free agent, but considering he's 39 years-old, it's possible he chooses to retire. Ginobili's decision on his future with the Spurs likely depends on what Tim Duncan -- who has a player option, as well -- does. Even if Ginobili chooses to play next season, he isn't worth drafting in most fantasy leagues.

Ginobili posted a 3.0 nERD, which ranked 51st, in 58 games played -- all off the bench -- this season. He averaged 9.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game while posting a 57.3 True Shooting Percentage.
