Cavaliers' Richard Jefferson starts Game 3 for Kevin Love
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Richard Jefferson will start Game 3 in place of Kevin Love (concussion).
Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue is opting for a smaller lineup, rather than starting Channing Frye at power forward, though he did say that the Cavs "need to find ways to keep [Frye] on the floor." Jefferson can't play huge minutes at age 35, and until Love is healthy, we're likely to see plenty of LeBron at four with more minutes for Frye, Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson and even Timofey Mozgov.
Jefferson ended the regular season ranked 76th with a 0.4 nERD. He averaged just 5.5 points and 1.7 rebounds per night. In 15.7 minutes per game this postseason, he is putting up 5.6 points and 2.8 boards.
