Cleveland's Kevin Love (concussion) ruled out for Game 3
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love (concussion) will not be medically cleared to play in Wednesday's Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors.
Love wants to play, but he's been told that the earliest he'll be able to take the court will be Friday's Game 4, which at this point is not a certainty. With Love on the sidelines for Game 3, it'll either be Richard Jefferson or Channing Frye entering the starting five, with Jefferson being the more likely guy to get the nod. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and J.R. Smith will need to pick up the slack on offense, and there could be more minutes available for Timofey Mozgov. Tristan Thompson will be logging major minutes tonight.
While Love's presence will be missed on the offensive end, his absence may improve the Cavaliers defensively. Love ranked 21st in the regular season with a 7.5 nERD. He is averaging 16.5 points and 9.4 rebounds in 32.1 minutes per game in the playoffs.
