Wizards' John Wall (knees) will not rush his rehab

Washington Wizards point guard John Wall (knee surgeries) said that he will not rush his rehab in order to be ready for training camp.

What It Means:

"They're doing great. I'm rehabbing every day for like three hours, sometimes like two times a day," said Wall of his knees. "I'm in no rush... my health is more important for the regular season so I'm going to take as much time as I need to." Wall underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, and had another procedure performed on his left knee to remove calcium deposits in early May, but he is expected to be ready when the 2016-17 season begins. Wizards' owner Ted Leonsis did say that Wall is currently "ahead of schedule" in his recovery, so things are moving in a positive direction.

Wall finished the regular season with a -0.8 nERD, which ranked 88th. He averaged 19.9 points, 4.9 boards and 10.2 assists per game while hitting just 42.4 percent of his shots. His 4.67 Effective Field Goal Percentage was down from his clip the past two seasons but still above his career average. Over the past two years, Wall has averaged 10.0 and 10.2 assists, respectively.
