Indiana's Paul George plans to play in the Olympics

Indiana Pacers forward Paul George said he'd like to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games.

What It Means:

"I think since I've been off, my body's telling me yes, my mind is telling me yes, people around me are telling me yes," said George, regarding whether he's recovered enough from the NBA season to compete in the Olympics. "So I feel good about it. And, you know... I want to give it a shot." George suffered a gruesome leg injury during a Team USA scrimmage two years ago, but it doesn't look like it will stop him from suiting up for Team USA should he be granted the opportunity.

George -- regarded as one of the best two-way players in the league -- ended the regular season with per-game averages of 23.1 points, 7.0 boards, 4.1 assists and 1.9 steals. His 49.0 Effective Field Goal Percentage was right in line with his career average (49.4). George checked in 23rd with a 7.0 nERD.
