Clippers' Cole Aldrich declines player option

Los Angeles Clippers center Cole Aldrich has reportedly opted out of his contract, and he will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

What It Means:

Aldrich was impressive in his five starts this past season, posting averages of 15.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 blocks and 2.4 steals per game, so he's may be set to earn a nice payday on the open market this summer. Health has been an issue for Aldrich in the past, but if he lands in an ideal situation, he'll be someone to consider as a late-round flier on draft day.

Aldrich played 60 games in the regular season and averaged just 13.3 minutes per game, so it's no wonder his per game averages were low (5.5 points, 4.8 rebounds). His 62.6 True Shooting Percentage was a career high.
