Tony Wroten

Knicks' Tony Wroten (ACL) progressing well in his rehab

New York Knicks guard Tony Wroten's (knee) rehab has been going well, and he's reportedly got his "explosiveness" back, according to his longtime mentor Will Conroy.

What It Means:

"He’s got his explosiveness back,’’ Conroy said. "He’s a top-20 talent." The top-20 upside may be a bit of a reach, but it's good to know that Wroten is progressing well in his rehab from a second ACL surgery. Wroten suffered his first ACL tear as a junior in high school, and when the Philadelphia 76ers -- his former team -- evaluated his knee, they reportedly determined that the first procedure was "rushed" and done "improperly" which is why they decided to do the entire ACL again during his second procedure.

Wroten is reportedly "fired up" to suit up for the Knicks' Summer League squad this offseason. He averaged 19.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per-36 minutes for the Sixers back in 2013-'14, which was his only full season in the league. He's a worthwhile low-cost gamble for the Knicks, who desperately need an infusion of talent.
