Nets' Ben Simmons (back) officially done for season
Brooklyn Nets forward Ben Simmons (back) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn said Simmons is beginning a rehab program on his back. Simmons didn't appear in a game after the All-Star break and this was easily the worst season of his career. The 26-year-old is under contract through 2025, but it remains to be seen if the Nets want to keep him around.
Simmons averaged 26.7 FanDuel points in 26.3 minutes across 42 appearances this season, with 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.6 blocks on a 56.6 field goal percentage and 43.9 free throw percentage. The points, rebounds, assists, steals, and free throw rate are all career-lows.
