Bulls' Pau Gasol considering skipping the Olympics
Chicago Bulls power forward/center Pau Gasol is considering skipping the Olympics due to fears over the Zika virus.
Gasol said, "We need to understand the seriousness of the situation. I feel responsible to know more about the situation and to inform everyone about it." He also expects other athletes to consider the same course of action.
The 35-year-old is coming off of a solid season, in which he finished 39th in the league with a 4.5 nERD, and is an impending free agent. Sitting out of the Olympics, for any reason, would also afford him some valuable time to rest and recover this off-season.
