The Miami Heat's preference is to re-sign Dwyane Wade to a one-year contract, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Both Wade and the Heat want him to remain in Miami, and the one year deal would be more about roster flexibility for 2017 than about Wade's long-term status with the team.
The 34-year-old Wade ranked 87th in the league with a -0.7 nERD this season, averaging 19.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists in a career-low 30.5 minutes per game, while posting a .459 Effective Field Goal Percentage.
