Mike D'Antoni will be named new head coach for Rockets

The Houston Rockets are reportedly finalizing a four-year deal to install Mike D'Antoni as their next head coach.

What It Means:

D'Antoni officially beats out Stephen Silas for the head coaching gig in Houston, and the D'Antoni hire all but guarantees that Dwight Howard will be donning a different jersey next season. D'Antoni is a fantasy friendly coach, and his uptempo style will lead to more fantasy goodness for all those involved. With Howard assuredly gone, Clint Capela could find himself in a starting role next season depending on what Houston does during free agency. James Harden's numbers are sure to be ridiculous with D'Antoni at the helm.

Despite having James Harden and (what's left of) Dwight Howard, Houston barely snuck into the postseason as the West's number-eight seed. The Rockets were 14th in numberFire's Team Power Rankings, while their offense ranked eighth in the league.
