John Wall heading back to Rockets, buyout likely

The Houston Rockets plan to waive point guard John Wall (abdomen) after acquiring him from the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team trade with the Memphis Grizzlies.

What It Means:

The Rockets acquired Wall (abdomen), Danny Green, and a 2023 first-round pick swap Thursday. The Clippers received Eric Gordon and three second-round picks while Luke Kennard landed on the Grizzlies. Wall hasn't played since January 13 due to an abdomen injury, but a title contender will likely give him a chance once he recovers.

Wall averaged 23.5 FanDuel points in 22.2 minutes over 34 games for the Clippers this season, with 11.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.0 3-pointers.
