Shams: Nets trade Kyrie Irving to Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, picks
Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving has been traded to the Dallas Mavericks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
After the polarizing point guard requested a trade from the team, the Nets decided to move on after years of controversy. While the official details of the trade are still coming together, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and a group of future draft picks will be headed back to Brooklyn in the deal. Irving now slots next to Luka Doncic in the backcourt. Markieff Morris will also head to Dallas in the deal.
In 40 games this season, Irving is averaging 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 44.4 FanDuel points.
