Knicks hiring Jeff Hornacek as head coach
The New York Knicks are reportedly hiring Jeff Hornacek as their new head coach.
Hornacek was in the running for multiple vacant coaching jobs, but he'll reportedly make his new home in New York, beating out fellow candidates Kurt Rambis and David Blatt. Hornacek compiled a 101-112 record in nearly three seasons as the Phoenix Suns' head coach. He takes over a team which missed the playoffs this year but should benefit from continuity as four of their five starters have guaranteed contracts. There's no word yet about Hornacek's assistant coaches, but it's a near certainty his staff will run Phil Jackson's preferred triangle offense.
The Knicks went 32-50 this season and ranked 23rd according to numberFire's Team Power Rankings.
