Kawhi Leonard scores 26 points, swipes five steals in Spurs' loss
San Antonio Spurs guard Kawhi Leonard scored 26 points on 12-of-21 shooting in Tuesday's Game 5 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
He was everywhere tonight with a total of five steals, but the Spurs were outscored 26-19 in the fourth quarter. Leonard added six rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer, and he now has as many double-digit scoring playoff games (57) in his career as George Gervin, which ties him for sixth in Spurs' history. San Antonio is down 3-2 in the series with Game 6 coming up on Thursday in Oklahoma City.
Leonard had a monster season, finishing the year ranked third with a 19.1 nERD. He averaged 21.2 points, 6.8 boards, 2.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while posting a 56.5 Effective Field Goal Percentage. Leonard also nailed 44.3 percent of his 3-pointers. The points, blocks, 3-point percentage and assists were all career-best clips.
