Cleveland wants to take Hawks' Kyle Korver out of the game

Cleveland Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said he'll make shutting down Atlanta Hawks guard Kyle Korver a priority for the Cavs during their second-round series with the Hawks.

What It Means:

"When we take [Korver] out of the game, they have a tough time scoring," Lue said. "We know in the last series [against the Boston Celtics], they were a plus-78 when he was on the floor and a minus-24 when he was off the floor. He’s a big part of what they do, and we have to lock into him and try to take him out of the series." The Cavs made Korver a non-factor during their Game 1 win, holding him to just one shot attempt, so the Hawks will need to do a better job of trying to get him involved during Wednesday's Game 2.

Korver posted a -1.4 nERD, which ranked 94th, in 80 regular season games this season. He averaged 12.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in six games against the Celtics while shooting 45.0 percent from deep.
