Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki plans to opt out of contract
Dallas Mavericks forward/center Dirk Nowitzki plans to opt out of the final season of his contract, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Nowitzki himself has said he plans to honor his full contract, so it remains to be seen how seriously the report should be taken. In any event, don't expect to see him anywhere but Dallas next year.
The 37-year-old Nowitzki has continued to defy aging. He averaged 18.3 points and 6.5 rebounds in 31.5 minutes per game this season. He owned a 50.4 Effective Field Goal Percentage and ranked 42nd in the league with a 4.1 nERD.
