Marcus Thornton

Sources: Marcus Thornton to play Australia

The Celtics' 2015 second-round draft pick (not to be confused with the Suns' Marcus Thornton) is set to play in Australia next season, per reports.

What It Means:

Thornton appeared in eight games this summer averaging 5.1 points and 1.1 boards in 11 minutes of play while shooting 27.6 percent from the field.

Thornton wouldn't have received any playing time playing behind Marcus Smart, Isaiah Thomas and Terry Rozier in Boston, so he'll develop his game on the other side of the globe with a chance to make the team next year.
