Clippers' Blake Griffin (quad) will not require surgery

Los Angeles Clippers forward/center Blake Griffin will not require surgery to repair his left quad.

What It Means:

Griffin underwent a bone marrow procedure on Wednesday, which is similar to a PRP injection, and effectively eliminates the need for surgery. He's going to be sidelined for at least the next three months, so in addition to missing the remainder of the postseason, he won't be able to participate during the 2016 Olympic Games. He should be fine for the 2016-17 season, though.

Griffin played 35 games this year, earning a 2.7 nERD, which fell just outside of the top 50. In the first round, he averaged 15.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists on 37.7 percent shooting from the field. The Clippers are currently down 3-games-to-2 in their first round series against the Portland Trail Blazers.
