Vince Carter scores 16 points in 19 minutes for Grizzlies

Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Vince Carter posted a team-high 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting with two 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists and one block in just 19 minutes in his first postseason start since 2010.

What It Means:

He was the Grizzlies' only offense in the first half, but his minutes were restricted by the score as Memphis trailed big in the third quarter and wound up losing by 32 points. Carter's throwback performance could earn him another start on Tuesday, but it's unlikely he'll be this efficient again against the San Antonio Spurs' elite defense.

Carter's 52.0 True Shooting Percentage this season was a huge improvement over last year's 44.5 percent clip. Our models currently project him to have 6.0 points and 2.2 rebounds on 39.6 percent shooting from the field on Tuesday against the Spurs. His -0.4 nERD ranked 84th for the year.
