Ty Lawson

Ty Lawson traded to Houston

The Houston Rockets have acquired point guard Ty Lawson from the Denver Nuggets for Joey Dorsey, Pablo Prigioni, Nick Johnson, Kostas Papanikolaou, and a future first-round pick.

What It Means:

Lawson posted a solid 1.6 nERD and 18.5 Player Efficiency Rating on the Nuggets last season. He is now placed on a title contender team surrounded by James Harden and Dwight Howard. This trade is a huge upgrade for the Rockets at point guard as the highest Player Efficiency Rating on their roster among point guards last season was Pablo Prigioni (11.4). This trade moves rookie Emmanuel Mudiay into the starting point guard role for the Nuggets this upcoming season.
