James Ennis scores 28 points, hits six 3-pointers as Pelicans get crushed

New Orleans Pelicans guard/forward James Ennis followed up Monday's 29-point game with 28 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves, making 11-of-20 shots with six 3-pointers, two rebounds and one steal.

What It Means:

Ennis has been auditioning for a new contract as an impending unrestricted free agent, and he rose to the occasion with averages of 25.0 points and 4.3 triples in his past three games. Bear in mind he's getting all the touches he wants on a decimated roster, and it's hard to envision him having standard-league appeal next season.

In seven April contests, Ennis averaged 17.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.6 3-pointers per game on an impressive 67.1 True Shooting Percentage. Overall, he earned a 0.5 nERD in 22 games this season, ranking 75th in the league.
